REBO BUDGET AND REPORTING
Centrally and Non-Centrally Controlled Funds
The state allocations are centrally controlled funds. Facilities Administration (F&A) and Revenue are non-centrally controlled funds. The General Ledger accounting string is used for charging expenditures to these non-grant accounts.
Tracy Reda is the Budget and Reporting lead for this function.
Oracle offers several standard reports. Custom reports are also available. Please contact Tracy if you need training on how to obtain a standard report from Oracle, or if you need a general ledger custom report. One of the roles of the REBO is to assist our departments in eliminating shadow systems that could be replaced by a report obtained directly from the WVU financial system. The budget allocations and revenue are budgeted by department numbers. It is extremely important to make sure that expenditures are charged to the correct departments. The appropriate department numbers should also be used on blue sheets for Proposals to OSP, Tuition Waivers, and other documents that require the account numbers. Please use the generic DA (the department number above with four zeros at the end) except for charging F&A or residual funds or when depositing or spending revenue funds. F&A DA’s end with 99. For example Office of Research VMC F&A would be charged to 236090099. Please see the Accounts Receivable Page on this web-site for an explanation of the revenue deposit and expenditure reduction DA structure.
Note about F&A Funds:
Each Research Unit has a specific fund number. The earned overhead (F&A) is deposited automatically into the Director’s (or VP in Dr. Weete’s case) account. Dr. Bajura has a specific plan for administering the F&A earned by each department.
